Can I trade mutual funds or bonds?
No. Currently there is no trading with mutual funds or bonds.

The fees for mutual funds make simulation difficult to replicate accurately. For example, many funds have back-end loads and so are designed as long-term investment vehicles with very substantial penalties if you sell the fund within the first few years. Keep in mind that the system does support ETFs because they trade in a manner similar to stocks.

Bonds are also difficult to simulate since trading is between dealers and not in an auction market. (This makes getting accurate quotes difficult.) Also, although there are some fixed-income instruments that individuals can purchase, the size of transactions in the market is generally too large to allow individuals to participate.

For these reasons we have no plans to expand functionality to include bonds or mutual funds.
